Like streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify, Amazon Music offers high-resolution lossless audio quality. With its Unlimited plan, users can access high-resolution audio in HD (16-bit/44.1kHz FLAC) and Ultra HD (24-bit/44.1kHz - 192kHz FLAC) quality. However, Amazon Music differs from most streaming platforms in that it also operates a digital music store, allowing users to purchase and download MP3 albums and tracks. Yet this purchasing model does not extend to its HD or Ultra HD audio, which is available solely through an Unlimited subscription, and unlike standard MP3 purchases, it cannot be downloaded as a permanent FLAC file.
As a result, the question of how to download and preserve Ultra HD audio as real, playable files has become a pressing issue for audiophiles seeking greater flexibility and long-term access. This article provides a comprehensive review of TuneCable iMazon Recorder, a high-fidelity backup solution that enables Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers to convert streaming content into lossless HD/Ultra HD files. So, how does it actually perform in practice? Let's see!
Nowadays, many free online tools only capture 256kbps compressed audio from the Amazon Music web player. TuneCable iMazon Recorder, however, is designed specifically for Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers. It can perfectly preserve Amazon Music's unique HD/Ultra HD audio quality. Furthermore, its latest 2026 version supports downloading Amazon Music tracks in EAC3 and AC4 formats, preserving their immersive spatial audio (Dolby Atmos & Spatial Audio).
Like other TuneCable products, the TuneCable iMazon Recorder inherits a full suite of familiar features, including flexible output formats (MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF), intelligent ID3 tag and lyrics preservation, customizable file naming and storage options, batch downloading capability, as well as an all-in-one audio toolkit.
We used an Amazon Music Unlimited account for testing and selected high-definition tracks that natively support Ultra HD quality. During our testing, we chose the "Amazon Music App" option to download Amazon Music tracks, and set the output format to "Recommended".
Testing Results: The exported file retains true Ultra HD quality—and Spek confirms it, showing a full 24-bit/48kHz frequency response with no visible high-frequency loss.
Download Efficiency: 3 tracks (8:48 total runtime) in 1:46 - 35 seconds per song on average - about 5X conversion speed.
In the settings window, we selected the "Save Lyrics" option. The LRC files were saved in the output folder automatically. As shown in the image below, the downloaded Amazon Music FLAC file automatically saved complete ID3 tags, such as title, artist, album name, genre, year, and even the cover art. Furthermore, ID3 tags (cover, genre, year) and lyrics (.lrc) are preserved with 100% accuracy, even at high download speeds.
TuneCable iMazon Recorder gives users true "ownership" of their music while providing flexible settings that allow them to apply their favorite music to various scenarios. In the settings window, users can customize output format, bit rate, bit depth, sample rate, output file naming, and organized way according to their specific needs:
Currently, running TuneCable iMazon Recorder in web player mode and selecting EAC3 or AC4 in the settings window allows you to download Dolby Atmos songs or spatial audio.
Testing Results: We found a song labeled with Dolby quality in the Amazon Music web player and used it for testing, and we finally got an audio file in EAC3 (m4a) format as follows. As can be seen from the image, the output file is in 6-channel Dolby Atmos (E-AC-3) format, preserving complete immersive audio information.
Beyond its core downloading capability, TuneCable iMazon Recorder comes bundled with a suite of useful audio tools: Tag Editor, Format Converter, CD Burner, AA/AAX converter, Audio Editor, etc. In short, it packs most of the everyday tools I need into a single interface—and that makes it incredibly convenient.
Step 1 Launch TuneCable and select "Amazon Music App" from the top left corner. Log in to your Amazon Music Unlimited account. Set the streaming quality to Ultra HD within the app.
Step 2 Find the song with the Ultra HD tab on Amazon Music app and click the floating "+" button. Select the needed songs and click "Add".
Step 3 Click "Settings", select "Record Mode" for the conversion mode, and "Recommended" for the output format. In this case, TuneCable will download the highest audio quality offered by the Amazon Music app by default. The conversion speed can reach up to 5X.
Step 4 Click "Convert" to start the download. After the download is complete, you can view the downloaded tracks in "History".
Its ability to preserve HD/Ultra HD audio quality, Dolby Atmos, and spatial audio is certainly impressive, but it also has some limitations. Here's a summary of its advantages and disadvantages:
